I would like to offer my prayers and thoughts to the American people and in particular emergency services workers in New york and New orleans . Today the 11th of september stands as a memory for all of us of the terrible terrorist activities in New york where so many innocent and brave people lost their lives . Unfortunately as we remember these horrific events the American people and emergency workers are once again in the thick of tragic events with a casualty list that does not bear thinking about , New orleans is under water , under strain and thanks to N.O police and military is thankfully back under control of law .

To these brave men and women i raise the stars and stripes and raise a well earn't salute . May god be with you all

I'm 100% behind you on this, I have friends in the NYPD and went there last year with the UK police to commemorate this.
My thoughts are with those who died especially those of the emergency services.

Good topic.

Such a shame that more are dying in the USA as we speak now - at least this time it's a natural disaster unlike the atrocities of Sept 11th.

Just spotted this as i was thinking of logging off.

Logging off so i could go upstairs wash and climb into my dress uniform for a memorial service attended by heads of government and The US ambassador to Ireland. I was at the first ceremony on September 15 2001 and been to all the 9/11 ceremonys since

I've just found this topic and have recently had an e-mail. These are the attached pictures and message which came with it:

Message:

This is a picture of an independent trucker who has painted his cab and trailer with the names of all those who lost their lives in 9/11. The trucker 's name is John Holmgren from Shafer, Minn. The trucker has been "pulled over" numerous times just so the troopers can get their picture taken with the truck.
