Well, today was the day that we'd all been waiting for - our First patrol out and about...at the Southport Flower Show.

The theme for the show this year is water - so, instinctively, it rained! I was only on Patrol from 1300 to 1700hrs, at the Crime reduction POD and on foot patrol.

Our afternoon began with escorting a man out of the show, to his car so that he could get his picnic hamper and come back in without having to pay again! the rest of the day was spent patrolling the show and providing a 'friendly-face' at the Crime reduction POD.

Wow, at events, the most important thing to know is where the toilets are. The ammount of people that wanted to know was amazing!

Isn't it funny, how many people ask you funny/silly questions - we had one man who wanted to know where he could buy batteries for his camera. OK, the batteries were for his camera to take some wonderful pictures of the flowers! We had annother man though, who asked us 'Is there anywhere that I could buy some glue?' when we replied with 'No', he murmered 'Well, Sailsbury do!' The main thing is, is why did someone at a Flower show want to do buy some glue! We never got the chance to ask as he walked away!

Too right needing to know where the toilets are! Don't matter what uniform you're wearing or where you are, anyone in a uniform seems to become a walking Tourist Information office! The other ones you'll get asked are car parks, and the local bus stop/train station

nope, no officers were wearing them, maybe at the air show because its going to be a whole lot busier...

We were given Airwaves radios to use, from a pool set but there soon to buy us all an airwaves radio each...
