As i am thinking of going to Cantebury Christ Church University when i'm 18 i had a look on the Kent police website, at the specials section, and saw this:

QUOTE

Q - Do I have to take a fitness -*test*-('")?

A - No, but you are expected to by physically fit. You will also need to be screened by our Occupational Health Department.

At the moment my BMI is worrying me because i am 26.** but i have heared different stories saying some forces take people from 18 - 25 and other forces take people from 18 - 30

Could anyone tell me if there is a national standard or what the kent standards are?

Thanks

Matt.

I'm also 26, but I wouldn't consider myself fat, unhealthy or unfit. Also, do not forget the BMI is not always accurate, as muscle tissue is heavier than fat.

oh yeh, i know it has limitations and i dont consider myself to be unfit, but i'll be starting going to the gym for my Duke of Edinburgh award so that'll help me loose a few pounds although i would like to get to below 25
