Recently, I have traveled across Germany and I saw german police officers (I think it was in Augsburg, BAYERN), they were wearing new police uniforms :
- light blue shirt,
- dark blue ir black coat
- dark trousers …….

I already know that the german police officers were well known by wearing green coats…..

I also saw patrol police cars, cars were metal grey with green strips and some of them were metal grey with blue strips (but not long ago all german patrol cars were white with green strips – I think so).

So, why german police have dacided to change uniforms (style and colour) and colour of cars??

Could be differnt forces like city police have blue, traffic coppers have green and so on

Because the old ones looked like puke?

The Germans have decided that the Green uniforms are no longer "IN" and that the green uniform does not gain any resepct from the German however a survey carried out shows that a Dark uniform does! so the Germans are now changing over to blue as are the cars changing to blue and silver, so watch out if you see one around!! lol

Since Germany is a Federal state, is there one national police force? Or does each region have its own, which enforce it's own laws? Or both?

Good question, was thinking of that myself. Look forward to the answer.

Fairly sure that there is a railway / border type police force in addition to any other police force(s) they may have.
