Welcome to the PCSO's out there. Just a question:

What is the length of time training for PCSO's?

Is it a National Training package like CENTREX for regular Officers?

Don't know if it is the same everywhere but ours get five weeks

Afternoon all,

I had four weeks (Met') but it could have been condensed to half that, it was that basic. I understand that it has been put up to five weeks and they plan to run it alongside the PC's at Hendon (although, I believe this has not happened yet).

I heard somewhere that Centrex believe it should be closer to eight weeks (can't remember where though).

It would be nice if it was pass or fail though (I didn't even have an exam, just a knowledge -*test*-('") with no time limit and conferring actively encouraged). wink.gif

Still what do I know, I just work here!!! ipf/help.gif

Hi, another newb comes across from Falkor Pcso website. I have passed everything and am just waiting on security clearance to become a Pcso. Fingers crossed i should be on the next (January) course. I have been told the training is now 7 weeks, can't wait, my mate starts next week and has been round to show me all his new uniform!

Hey SW, welcome to WWP.

Glad to hear your application was successful, good luck with your career.

With the pleasantries out of the way, do you have any plans to become a 'real' policeman? ipf/angel.gif wink.gif
