The same way as police officers - asking for any identification the person has on them. If not, then like Sarge said, they get on the blower.

Probably the same power as us, none at all.

Still they get training in giving a stern teddy bear stare which sometimes helps.

NO, anything but the teddy bear stare ipf/em1500.gif

If they ran off whilst the PCSO was asking for a name or checking details would the PCSO give chase and direct in PCs because they suspect they have done something serious or would they wait and look for them. The reason i ask is because surly they would run off again if they were seen by a PC or PCSO??????

Thanks

OBP, surely you've heard of the police reform act? unsure.gif
http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts2002/20020030.htm

(2) Any person who-

(a) fails to give his name and address when required to do so under subsection (1), or
(cool.gif gives a false or inaccurate name or address in response to a requirement under that subsection,
is guilty of an offence and shall be liable, on summary conviction, to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale.

Only several away from Section 59!!
