I think it's an age thing,

Years ago I hated the stuff, nearly got sick thinking of it never mind drinking it.

But after I hit 40 I think my taste buds must have got nuked cause now I quite like it. That said the farther from Ireland you go the worse it tastes and it tastes different in different parts of Ireland even, if you know what I mean

Who knows if I keep going the way I am I might even get to like the taste of neat whisky.

My dad would agree with you dh he only drinks guiness from Ireland and not in any other country as it tastes different. But he will say what pubs do a good guniess and he knows which ones do and hell choose them over others lol
