I have a BIG interest in Jack the Ripper. I don't know why. It just fascinates me all the different theories around him and it's just really interesting that it has remained a total mystery.

Really, just wondering if there were any other JTR enthusiasts out there? If so, who do you think did it?

This site is probably the best about jack the ripper in case you're interested or want to find out more: www.casebook.org

Personally I think Francis Tumblety did it!

When I was younger I used to read all the books about him. I understood that the information on him is now able to be published but for some reason it is being kept a secret from the general public........I wonder why dry.gif

I'm with you on that one, but everyone keeps saying it was a man that did the killings,, but there are some very evil women outt there too

Thought would throw a spanner in the works and give you lot somthing to think about

The one with the big knife did it laugh.gif laugh.gif Sorry, couldn't resist that. Right, back to being serious, many years ago when I was a young PC with jet black hair there was a Met sargent who use to pop in for tea etc. When he went on long term sick he began researching JTR and the murders and came up with some interesting but not widely known theories, the one that intrigued me most was that JTR was a railway constable and this was based on some very very old news paper reports and the fact that all the bodies were found within feet of the ventilation arches / shafts of the London underground (1863) These shafts were at street level and led down to the tunnels to try and vent them. Steam from these and the London fog hid many of London's undesirables as they moved around and this may suggest how he came and went unseen with a knowledge of the underground tunnel system!!! Nice theory but who know's ??????????

If you do a search on JTR, there are loads of interesting stories. Even about that one.

Cheers Jon, I think I'm about to re-awaken an old interest and start a bit of research into JTR.
