I understand the need for site traffic to garner new members, yet it is an impediment to the exchange of ideas and opinions if it's open slather. Of course, a closed area might be the answer but that would prohibit people like me who are interested, supportive, trustworthy and have a few war stories herself. Living in a city of over 4 million inhabitants, I have dealt with all types of cases. Sometimes I wish I could pull out my Beretta .22 and... oh never mind...
Maybe there should be an area for bonafide members. I am a moderator on another police site (obp will at-*test*-('") to this as will oscarmitre).

Mabye a member of the month where you can vote for the person who you think has done the most for the forum e.g. people who have helped out new members, people who have input the most information into the forum etc
