How many of you take extra care of your PNBs with a leather holder?
Because we (Cadets) have been issued with Merseyside PNBs, and I can imagine mine getting tatty and torn, I'm just considering whether or not I should get one...

Get slid on covers if thats what oyur on about stick the front and back page into pouchs on the holder. I have on sometimes its inpractical as it sticks out of your arse pocket when you in plain clothes so just let the book get a bit worn

Our Police Association provides every officer with a navy blue vinyl notebook cover as often as needed. They are pretty good and quite sturdy. They have the arrest criteria inside the front cover and arrest rights inside the rear cover. On the front cover of the current issue one there is the words : Road Safety is Everyones responsibility " in bold writing so that every time we write in them the public get to see a public safety message. Good idea in theory, however most of the people we deal with dont really give a rats patootie about anyone else but themselves.
Take care and stay safe Nathan

I've got a couple of the nice blue vinyl ones which sound the same as the ones Aussie Nathan was on about with space for a couple of cue cards etc.
They're knocking around in my spare room, were a "present" from a security company I previously did some work for. If you want one Joe, just PM me your address and its yours, FREE, GRATIS,

Hi there Joe,
Out of interest, do you get any training regarding pocket books (like ELBOWS) for example?
No Erasures No Leaves Torn Out No Blank Spaces No Overwriting No Writing Between Lines Statements in Direct Speech
Rob999- 06-14-2006
Is that what you're meant to do?
No writing womens phone numbers in the back then!
Donkey Walloper- 06-14-2006
I thought it was for writing the orders down when you went to "Spar" on refs.
"Whisky, whisky, tango........Packet of crisps and a mars bar!"

Sarge- 06-15-2006
The amount of crap i have stuck in the plactic covers at the back, radio frequencys, call signs, phone numbers, pieces of paper with vehicles and people to look out for and last but not least one of those subway frequent customer cards
Speaking of which I must use that up before the offer runs out
Rob999- 06-15-2006
That'd be the 8 stamps and free sub card. Funnily enough I've got a couple of them to use up as well.
Sarge- 06-16-2006

Not in the back, just put in a normal entry:
"Miss Anderson (phone no. here, and address if lucky) stopped myself to report a youth spitting on pavement. Looked around but had gone. No further action."
SORTED!
Clearly this is tongue-in-cheek and I would never recommend making up PNB entries!
