Just wondering how many appliances your local fire station has, and if you know, which appliances they are e.g. Water Ladder
My local station is in Avon Fire & Rescue Service's area, station 13 Keynsham, and has a Water Ladder and a Victim Support Unit.
Well I know that there are 4 stations on my borough: Barnet, Hendon, Finchley and Mill Hill and that the borough commander Nick O'Reilly is a very nice man!
As for the appliances, I think Barnet has about 3 but I really don't have much knowledge on it. Where I grew up, Croydon has a massive fire station now I believe with many specialist units and about 7 appliances but I don't know whether there's any truth in this...

From Tom Jefferson's London Fire Brigade website (http://www.lfbsite.com/),
Finchley Fire Station has 2 DPL's (Pump) and 2 HDC's (Pod Carrier) along with 1 general purpose van, 1 fire officer's car, 2 driving trainer vehicles, and 3 driving trainer cars.
Croyden Fire Station has 2 DPL's (Pump), 1 HLU (Hose Layer Unit), 1 IRU (Incident Response Unit), 1 FRU (Fire Rescue Unit), 5 PM's (Prime Movers), and 5 USAR' (Urban Search and Rescue)
I think all of the appliance abbreviations are right, but if anyone notices a mistake, please note either staff or me so we can change it.
I can tell you how many volleyball nets they have as that is all they seem to do all day

LOL, fitness is important though.
Swords has 2 normal engines a dennis and a volvo
Ours has two red shiny trucks , two volleyball nets , one pool table a bar and twenty two beds
ha ha Lordcov you must live by me

I suspect its more likely that all fire stations have these things as standard equipment ........" lads move the fire engine outside to make room for the pool table "
Lets nick it or atleast spary paint "SPRAY WATER ON THIS"
30mins of work and they get more credit than we do in 30 years
