Although this forum is particularly for people over the age of 16, people under this age may be members but must adhere to additional rules laid out below:
1. After registration, any person under the age of 16 should send a message to me saying so. I will advise you on our policy. In particular, I will send an e-mail to a parent/guardian to ensure they are happy for you to be a member. A contact phone number will also be required (we wont usually use this unless we feel unhappy the details you give us are not accurate.)
For users under the age of 16, the following restrictions will be placed on your account:
- The PM (Private Messaging) feature MIGHT be disabled for your account
- You will not be able to send e-mails from your user account to members
- You may not display a private e-mail address, MSN 'addy' or any other personal information (apart from a first name and the force area you live in (such as Surrey, MET, Sussex etc.)
- You must not attempt to engage in offline activity with other members (this may include asking for their contact information or giving out yours) Members who receive requests from under 16's to engage in such activity should report the incident to myself or a moderator immediately making sure you keep any evidence of it or giving a link to the post if in open discussion
- Persons under 16 may not purchase super member status
Should there be reasonable suspicion that you are under the age of 16, and you claim not to be then we may need to contact you via telephone or e-mail to verify this is not the case. If it discovered you have been a member for longer than 7 days and have not informed me that you are under 16 (so I can put the restrictions on your account) then you will be suspended immediately indefinately without warning.
This policy requires the cooperation of all members. Those under 16 should abide by the conditions above. Those over 16 should be vigilant for any suspect behaviour - any concerns you do have should be reported to myself or a moderator via PM immediately and we will deal with it as a team.
