Met Batons

Couldn't agree more.....i remember when ASP's were first issued i asked why we couldn't have a choice re the 26in version.....the reply was that most women were not strong enough to use it !!! (so nobody would have it)

Not sure about the autolock though.....too many moving parts for my liking !

In light of todays of todays events i feel that the sevice still doesn't take officer safety seriously enough....if we are not to be armed (and i cant see it happening for years) we should surely be issued we the very best next options ie the best and most effective body armour,sprays, batons and of course tasers !

Is this too much to ask ?

We have the choice of the 22 or 26" Monadnock. I prefer it over the ASP as I had an ASP collaspe on me before whereas the Monadnock can be used for public order (front and rear jabs) as it locks into place. We're also issued the Hindi caps, another great bit of kit. It speeds up drawing and retaining the baton and creates an even larger striking surface when rear jabbing etc. I've only had to use it in anger 2 / 3 time and it never let me down.
