How much pleasure can you get out of an equipment catologue

Dunno. I know a wannabe who gets really excited about new kit! Bet he keeps getting replacements for the "damaged" ones in his toilet!
No its just a good read especially if you going to be there for a long time you know.
Getting off the subject a bit, but does anyone know what kind of maintenance / service the autolock batons require?
The shaft of mine was wet with lube when I first got it, and the Monadnock web site referes to a recommended oil, but nowhere tells you what to do... I assume that as they have more intricate working internals than a friction lock, that they may require periodic cleaning / lubrication?
Any ideas or am I just thinking about it too much?

I wouldn't really know but a quick spray with WD40 normally sorts out most problems.
Just don't try oiling an ASP - It won't lock open if you do!
