Scotland Yard today confirmed that the vehicles will be used for two separate duties but were not prepared to discuss where.
It's the MET... London? Oops.

"Police are in a completely different ball game now with counter-terrorism being thrust on them. I think it is an ideal solution to a very dangerous situation the police are facing.
Which ball game? How is this different from the IRA? Oh... right... because the IRA were helpful by warning before the attacks.
How reassuring: the police are safe even if nobody else is.
By the time these vehicles hit the streets they will be dealing entirely with the effect; the cause will have detonated itself along with countless innocent victims because so-called intelligence policing is in reality ineffective.
Such a threat as we have seen, is ALREADY here.
However, perhaps we should expect to see these vehicles positioned at the end of a street where for instance, a peaceful demonstration is planned against the continued abuse of the immigration system, or demonstrating against a dictatorship that goes by the name of New Labour and it's insidious 'stealth tax' policies?
The potential scenario's are infinite as long as the target is visible and the pro-*test*-('") lawful. Such targets are certainly a threat but only to those who feel threatened by question..
So as far as terrorism goes these vehicles will in my opinion merely pick up the pieces, for they cannot protect we, the public, against an element that has no regard whatsoever for human life and an element that was invited into this country by a group of people intent on creating a false sense of security.
