The Traffic Operational Command Unit will be at this year's Miles Per Hour (MPH) show at Earls Court to promote road safety and give the public an insight into their role within the Capital.

The Traffic OCU will be exhibiting a range of fully operational vehicles at the show which runs from 2 - 5 November 2006. Vehicles include a BMW 530d traffic car, which is equipped with the la-*test*-('") Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and ProVida video technology as well as a new Mitsubishi Shogun & BMW RT1200 motorcycle.

Visitors will also be able to see a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 fully marked up as a Met Traffic car. Although the car won't be showing off it's world class skills, it will give traffic officers a chance to talk to the public about the important work that they do in keeping roads safe and denying criminals the use of London's roads. Officers will also be available to provide valuable advice and information about responsible and safe driving, including the new child seat legislation and the dangers of driving whilst using a mobile phone.

Staff from the Met's Human Resources department will also be on hand to provide information and advise on the varying exciting career opportunities available within the service. Further information on recruitment can be found at www.metpolicecareers.co.uk .
