new vectra's. Used for immediate responses and pursuits unless a traffic unit is available.

When will they get better light bars! sad.gif

I couldn't agree more

They don't know what strobes are these people, but then there is no hope considering they are still on UHF radio in some divisions

Commissioner- 09-03-2006
Oh how shocking, I like our lightbars, I'm not just saying that because I'm met rolleyes.gif or anything. I think they suit the vectras. And the red flashers on the back of them are very good. The alley lights are a nice addition. They're bright blue as well, you can see that in my avatar <. Which is good.
And we do have strobes tongue.gif Our older carriers (see, where are going from strobes to rotators), some of our traffic, and trojan units have them. And our CID magnetic attachable beacons are cheap strobes!

What about all this light bar talk?... I've noticed that despite how modern the cars are, different countries use different, possibly locally produced light bars.

Take Germany, with its Porche 911's and E Class Mercs, yet the light bars are massive and look oversized and unaerodynamic to me. Then there's Holland, with an array of T5's etc, and they have a singal blue beacon light on the roof. The list goes on.

Different strokes for different countries really.

Have to admit I like the UK type. We have a few cars here with some new crazy lookin white, almost flat lighting unit which looks like a star wars ship attached to the roof... must look for a pic.

But Norm, you can't see the lightbar in yours, it's being blocked by an ugly gun

Most of our ambulance cars ahve those including our ANPR Evo's, they are LED's.

Yea seen those robotack then theres the mondeo in fitzgibbon st with the massive and I mean massive lightbar huge bloody ugly thing.

Jon we used to have cheap magnetic roof strobes on unmarked cars now we have single cheap led dash light, my gripe is it doesnt give 360o visibility only visibility to the front

Commissioner- 09-04-2006
Attached is the picture Dick mentioned of the Essex ANPR's with ultra low profile lightbars ...
