QUOTE (Jules @ Oct 11 2005, 08:00 PM)
I was surprised today when I got a letter in the post saying that my application had been received. I thought that was very good, reassured me that it had not been lost - didn't know they did this - although, maybe, something which doesn't happen in larger forces such as MET or BTP?

Thats all you will hear now for a while , be prepared this process takes a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time . You will find that no news is good news ( most of the time )

Jules, are you still with us? ipf/confused.gif

Haven't seen you around so just checking ipf/bigsmily.gif

How's the recruitment to Hampshire going? Heard any more?

Jules- 11-21-2005
Don't fear CM still here! I still haven't heard anything don't know what to think. No news is good news and all that.

Got a letter yesterday in the post I had that feeling that it was what I had been waiting months for but now I was dreading opening it. After 15 minutes, I did and ... I've got a date for an assessment day.

Now the torture of waiting starts all over again sad.gif

Let us know when it is and we can all wish you luck

In North American parlance - you go girl!

I have today spent a day at the assessment centre. And before you start guys, I didn't tell you purely because I was trying not to think about it, PLUS if I totally failed then I would have felt a right idiot. Well anyway, now it's all over I feel a bit differently and I must say it was very nerve-racking especially the structured interview. Although, I must admit the roleplays were quite fun really! In total, we had to do 4 roleplays, 2 report writing -*test*-('") things, an interview where I was asked a few questions and the PIRT. Does anybody know how long roughly it will be before I hear the outcome? The waiting starts again I guess...

Fingers crossed for you, i'm sure you did ok ipf/tu.gif

Good luck, like OBP said, I'm sure you'll be fine

Generally, most wait roughly 7 working days before they find out.

And Monday is a bank holiday so roughly around wednesday next week. Best of luck

hello there guys and girls, it's been a while since I've posted on here, although I do visit regularly and read over the postings. Well, it was January-time when I took (and pleased to say passed ipf/bigsmily.gif ) the assessment centre. It was then on for my medical and security checks. The security checks were troublesome, not because I'm a convict or anything but because I spent a lot of time abroad as part of my previous job as an air hostess and even though I didn't officially live abroad they still wanted to satisfy themselves with various checks. Fair enough. The grip strength is something I had been worried about but I practiced a lot and managed it OK!

I started training in April. I'm being trained under the new national scheme called IPLDP and I'm on stage 1 which is called "induction" but I'm excited to be moving on to the next stage, unsurprisngly called "stage 2" very soon. Training is no longer residential, but hey-ho, I'll tell you about the new training scheme if you're interested when I'm on tomorrow, got to go now smile.gif
