Wow I could join the group of most appreciated people and join the Garda Reserves How cool I'd be, armed with less training than a dinner lady.

You wont be armed, you'll get a wooden baton and a set of chains plus a heap of dirty looks from regs

I'd like to say no but who knows what will happen! Plus I now see that they've taken away the bit about them having to be accompanied on patrol.
One thing's for sure, I won't be discussing the job in front of them, and when the little questions like "what'll I Pulse that as" come along, I'll say, "you tell me, you're fully and completely trained".

Yea its a disgrace 24hours training (I'm sure most of that will be spent getting measured for uniforms!) and they can go on solo patrol. Bugger that students cant even go out solo let alone these cowboys

It's off the wall stuff!... and looks like there's no age limit either. In the newspaper ad theres a guy saying he's 54 and gonna join. So what about the 1.5 mile run and assault course stuff we had to do?

54?? No offence but come on! That's pretty much the age limit here and it's like that for a very good reason (apart from pensions so people wouldn't bother staying anyway )

35 is the age limit to become a regular officer isn't it robotack??
