Is it only me or does it make also make you laugh when you see the new 'The Bill' adverts on the ITV channels?

Their new slogan 'Do you think you're job is difficult? join The Bill' makes me laugh, their job is easy compared to yours isn't it!? they solve crimes in 45 minutes! ipf/bigsmily.gif

Its a piss take of the "police could you" or "pcso could you" (which i saw today and laughed very loudly at) ads

Commissioner- 08-26-2006
gotta agree with that Al, making out that the non-confrontational role of PCSO is difficult.

Donkey Walloper- 08-26-2006
They are plugging the PCSO's to the MAX at the mo!

Not to mention they're plastering it in your face. When I was in London the other day I noticed they've got big signs on buses, bus stops, phone boxes etc. on a bright yellow (hi-vis) background "MAKE A VISIBLE DIFFERENCE, BECOME A PCSO"

The TV advert, I must admit, is quite funny! 'Oh, Bill, you'll never guess what happened last night...'

"MAKE A VISIBLE DIFFERENCE, BECOME A PCSO"

And it should also read "and earn a shed load of money for diddly squat"

Zara- 08-27-2006
If I remember correctly, the salary is mentioned in big font rolleyes.gif
That's going to attract people for the right reasons isn't it mad.gif

Sarge- 08-27-2006
PCSO ads are all over telly. Im telling you carboard cut out idea would be much more practical

Everyone is saying its lots of money.............Exactly how much money are they on?????? huh.gif

John- 08-31-2006
In the Met I believe they earn around 25k. Here in Kent they're on around the 21k mark, which I find an outrage considering a police officer earns less than that on appointment, and just about equals it after 32 weeks.

More money than a PC on application, the government want to employ an extra 15,000 of them and we can't even get a meezly 3% cost of living rise.
I see a pattern emerging here.
