Whatever happened to the new smaller helmets that were on trial with various forces ?

I thought they looked awful....anyone know ?....i presume they got the thumbs down ?

NEVER heard of them

A couple of years ago there was a bit of a fuss about them....as part of the new national uniform they were looking at a different helmet...after about three years research they came up with the current shape helmet only about 4 inches shorter...they were on trial with a number of forces

They looked bloody stupid !

I will try....its good for a laugh.....what amuses me most is the fact that a working party looked into it for about 3 years and it was the best that they could come up with !

It probably took:

1 Chief Superintendant
1 Superintendant
1 Chief Inspector
3 Inspectors
4 Sergeants
2 Constables
and a number of Civies
