I recently went to Norway, I'll tell you a bit about their police service.

Norway has only one police service. The idea is it is based on the principle of an integrated police, meaning that all functions of the police are concentrated in one organisation which tends to work quite well. There are 27 local police districts, each under the command of a Chief of Police. The chief of police has full responsibility for all policing in his district. Each police district has its own headquarters, as well as several police stations (70). The districts are divided into sub-districts (319), under the command of a "lensmann".

To phone the police in norway you dial 112.
