Police were forced to intervene after a brawl erupted during a festive night out for their off-duty colleagues.
Six police cars raced to a pub in Dorset where a room had been hired for a police Christmas party after a fight was sparked by a gatecrasher.
Dorset Police confirmed several off-duty officers received "minor injuries" in attempting to deal with the disturbance at the Kings Head Hotel in Wimborne.
A 20-year-old man, who was not a police officer, was arrested and a 32-year-old man, who The Sun newspaper reported was a police officer, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A Dorset Police spokesman said: "A minor public order incident occurred at the Kings Head public house in Wimborne on December 22.
"The arrested person was not a police officer. There were a large number of people present at the incident so it will take some time to resolve and police are continuing their inquiries."
Landlord Adam Fagg said: "The pub was very busy - filled with regulars, locals and guests from functions celebrating the festive season.
"This is the first time in over 20 years the Kings Head has seen any trouble."
