Police have come under attack from stone throwers in Dunmurry while investigating reports about a stolen car.

The vehicle was set on fire at Belsteel Road at about 0615 GMT on Monday.

Officers were not able to recover the vehicle until 1000 GMT because of the missiles.

A fire crew was also forced to withdraw from the scene due to an attack on their personnel. It is thought the car was stolen from a house in Lisburn.
