Whoever was daft enough to do that had never had the 'pleasure of driving one !. I learned to drive on a Green Goddess more than 35 years ago and recall that the brakes were cr*p then and the vehicles were much newer then, I dont suppose that they have improved with age

I totally agree with Commish and Sarge here. Just because there are a few prats in the brigade does not mean that all 'Trumpton' are the same.

Our lads get on great with plod on our patch, we always have their full support at every incident and they have ours. During and at the end of the incident there is always time for a bit of a chat and bit of banter between the crews. If there is refreshemnts for us it is always passed around to plod.

If your having problems with certain crews in your area then deal with it in an adult mature way instead of coming on open forums and slagging off other emergency services. Maybe they have had some of your colleagues ignore them at other times and have YOU all down as ingnorant.

And yes the 'ordinary' crews DO carry out fire prevention. We go to any house and offer to fit free smoke detectors and carry out a check of the home to ensure the occupants are aware of fire hazrds and escape routes should the normal route be blocked by fire. We have attended fires at some of these homes and the familes have escaped or at least been woken because of the smoke alarms we fitted. If thats not worth while then I dont know what is!!

We all have a job to do, not one is more important than the other. The are idiots all over the world and in every profession, lets not make out that just because of them that everyone is the same!!!!

Not sure if I understand your question but if you are asking why appliances do not carry Defibs then as far as I know they are almost certainly going to in the near future. Certainly in the NE!

There has been nothing said up here to say that 'Trumpton' will not carry them! I also know that they are already carriied in Sarge's neck of the woods as the ff's are trained up to medic standard.

What have you heard Jim that says otherwise?
