Those are very nice ambulances, I like the wat the lights are sunk into the bodywork.

Why yellow and red cheque sarge?

Sarge- 08-20-2006
Just the orders colours, most ambos in dublin are fire brigade ambos and they have red and yellow. Not quite sure why the order adopted them though. Think its to go with our red and yellow hi-vis jackets

Looks good Sarge.

I've just jacked in being a Johnnie, fed up of all the internal politics and aggro.
Now looking at becoming a civvy instructor in either the air or army cadets. I was looking at community first responders but local ambo service don't want any near me as I live in a built up town.

Indeed the sunk lights look good. They are practically the same design as London Ambulance Service.

Thanks for posting the pic.s

I was out of omac for a good few years, then realisied a new unit had started up in my area and knew a couple of people in it, as I hadn't resigned but taken time out got to keep my rank of corpral and my qualifications. Had to sit a few refresher courses though

Because our unit is small though we dont get cought up in all the politics of it. We're pretty laid back dont really listen to hq unless its vital information like new CPR guidelines

But its fun

Any pics of your mountain bikers Sarge?
They look the part and are better bikes than the Garda ones. Unbelievable weight in the panniers though. Last year at the St. Patricks Day Parade we had some girl ODing and a mountain biker went on board with ambulance crew to assist. I said I'd look after his bike, went to pick it up by the stem and dropped it in a heap... lot of people saw too... and laughed. ipf/oopsy.gif

Yea they have bottles of oxygen and all in them. They same chassis as our bikes bought off same supplier and all. They're the business, they're so popular that there is a year and a half (at least) wait for the training course. The guy who though up the idea got it from us and hes now training in the fire brigade

Nice one! I have a few friends in the Swords ERHB base. They have two nice Transits and a fully kitted out Mondeo Estate. Must try to get a few pics.
