Kitman, what agency are you with?

I'm a constable with the Wandsworth Parks police service in London

Don't have a partner. Most agencies over here don't pair guys up except for the very very large departments.
I am a training officer though so when I have a rookie he goes in the passenger seat. The laptop is on a swivel mount and can be moved around. It's not actually in the seat.

Ah I see, thanks for the info. That's a lot of equipment all the same, what purpose does the laptop serve?

We use it to run tags, licenses, etc, communicate with each other and our dispatcher, receive details about the call we are enroute to, write reports, etc. It ties in with the database our dispatcher uses and we can view call details and past complaints about a location we are enroute to.

Ah I see, I expect that means there's a lot less traffic over the radio?

Your cars must weight about 20tonne with all the gear you carry!
