So what type of inquiries could PCSOs get involved in-appart from missing persons

Beats me unsure.gif

I'm all for PCSOs taking statements from victims of crime if trained properly, but not all forces are using them for this, still wasting constables time sitting in peoples houses for a couple of hours at a time,

Why don't you find a CSO from your force and ask them. Most of the people on this site are Police Officers who don't know much about the workings of the CSO's. (No offence to anyone! wink.gif )

I'll give you a definitive answer in September when I start as a PCSO! tongue.gif

Why don't you become a police officer instead of a C3PO?

Rob999- 06-06-2006
Health OBP.

I can squeeze through as a PCSO but don't meet the PC medical standards.

See - I do have a valid reason!

Just today been offered a position with the Highways Agency though so dunno what to do now!

Highways it's gonna be then!

I'd applied to them first anyway and have been on their reserve list for about 7 months. It's definitely gotta be a more interesting a role that doesn't involve gangs of hoodies abusing you on a daily basis.

Plus I get to drive some nice 4x4s lol.

I'm off to my crappy security work in a bit to hand my notice in!

01mterr1- 06-07-2006
ipf/rage.gif I would do HA. i would go for them at 18 if i could but i would have to move and you have to have had a driving licence for 3yrs

Yea, HATO's do get to drive some very nice vehicles and at least most motorists respect them because theyre grateful for their assistance.

PCSO work can be quite good if you're in the town centre but if you happen to get stuck in some quite outer village then you get paid to sit around doing not much which means you end up on reassurance hi vis patrol the whole time.

With H.Agency at least there's no foot patrol tongue.gif
