The police have been attacked with bricks and bottles in Londonderry.

It happened on Saturday night as they attended a call in Westland Avenue. A man armed with a hammer had smashed doors, windows and pictures in a house.

A woman and two children were inside when the attack happened. No-one was injured and no arrests were made.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, a man was taken to hospital with a partially severed ear and an injured jaw following an assault in Derry.

The attack took place in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The victim, who is aged in his 30s, was attacked by two men in Ferryquay Street at about 0215 BST.

The police said they were trying to establish a motive for the attack.

Trust me Walloper it is the same Sh!t3 that a MULE has to undergo as part of the job regardless of where they get their wages.

In particular, stroke city ( London / Derry ) the rule of law and order is a novelty to some of its citizens and the old MULE has to play it by ear. It will take time to change this attitude. ph34r.gif
