An investigation has been opened after a police car responding to a 999 call collided with another vehicle.

Staffordshire Police said a patrol car was travelling from the High Street across a set of traffic lights in Newcastle-under-Lyme at the time.

The police car collided with a red Vauxhall Corsa. The Vauxhall driver and two police officers in the patrol car suffered minor injuries.

Staffordshire Police want anyone who saw the accident to get in touch.
