Gloucestershire police have been given a superbike capable of 200mph and accelerating from 0 to 100mph in five seconds. The Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa is one of the fas-*test*-('") motorbikes in the world.
The force is the first in the country to get one.
It will be used to promote the better biking campaign BikeSafe.
Sgt Adrian Mansell, head of driver and rider training for Gloucestershire police, said: "It's not being used for enforcement.
"The reason we got the bike, which is sponsored by Cheltenham Motorcycles, is to raise the profile of post--*test*-('") training for motorcyclists.
"We have quite a few problems caused by motorcyclists on country roads."
The bike is kitted out in police colours with lights and a siren.
Sgt Mansell said: "It's a powerful bike and an imposing machine.
"We want to welcome motorcyclists and promote the campaign for better motorcycling.
"Motorcyclists sometimes have an uneasy relationship with the police. This bike is an ice-breaker."
