Stirling University has been given its own police officer in a bid to make life safer for students and staff.
Pc Mark Westmorland said his main role would be to provide safety advice, reassurance and general support.
The university and Central Scotland Police have insisted that the campus was one of the safest in the country.
Mr Westmorland said: "The 310 acre campus is a busy place with more than 11,000 people coming and going on a regular basis."
A university spokesman added: "Many of our prospective students and parents comment on the friendly atmosphere, however, like any community, we have to be vigilant to crime."
