A pipe-bomb attack in County Tyrone last week was directed against the home of a police officer, it has emerged.
The attack, in the Ballylaw area of Strabane last Friday, was admitted by a dissident republican group in a telephone call to a Belfast newsroom.
It is understood that two pipe-bombs were thrown and some items were removed from the scene.
The policeman's wife, who was in the kitchen, saw a flash and the incident was also reported by their neighbours.
Police in the area are warning people not to touch anything that looks suspicious.
