An Inspector delaing with an accident, whatever next
A police inspector has been injured by a passing car while dealing with a road accident on the M4 motorway near Briton Ferry in Neath Port Talbot.
The officer suffered a broken leg in the incident that saw the motorway closed in for several hours on Monday.
The inspector was trying to help at the scene of a two-vehicle crash near the junction 42 exit to Briton Ferry.
The Wales Air Ambulance landed on the motorway and he was taken to Swansea's Morriston Hospital.
Traffic police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 1030 GMT.
They said the accident happened during treacherous driving conditions and have asked motorists to take care in stormy weather.
