Our officers only restricted area was added to the forum on 5th August 06, after being suggested by Oldbillplod, a long standing WWP member.
Currently we accept UK, IRISH and AUSTRALIAN officers only, however, rest assured that we are developing protocols so that soon we will be able to verify officers from other countries as well.
Full information on how to gain access is given below:
UK
To get access:
* Send an E-MAIL from your OFFICIAL @force.police.uk e-mail address. Send the e-mail to "worldwidepolice.admin@gmail.com" - check the e-mail address before sending it to the wrong person! Subject of the e-mail something like "private area". In the e-mail put your RANK & SURNAME e.g. PC SMITH. and also your force and station. Include your forum username ASWELL. Typically this information wont be used but if we suspect you are gaining unauthorised access then it may be verified. Also, random checks on the information may be carried out. Should you be cautious of your professional standards department then you can if you wish disguise the e-mail to appear "work-related" and just send an e-mail from your personal address but refer to the contents of the "work related" e-mail you sent. Also be aware that only UK police personnel with the power of arrest may have access - police support staff are not permitted to have access.
ALTERNATIVELY: You can scan/photograph your warrant card and send it in an e-mail to worldwidepolice.admin@gmail.com and include your name, force and station.
After this::: To ensure that the authenticity of the e-mail address, a code will be sent back to you, which you will then have to PM to me. I know it's long winded but it is necessary.
Myself and Oldbillplod will manage the verification for the UK
AUSTRALIA
To get access:
* Scan in your police ID & badge : send it as an attachment to worldwidepolice.admin@gmail.com - you can block out the personal details should you wish but the overall impression of the ID must remain. In the E-Mail, include your name, force, rank and station. Also give your official police e-mail address as this is a code will be sent which you will have to PM me before you get access.
* We have Two Australian verified officers, Disco and Aussie Nathan who have volunteered to assist in the verification process and may be asked by myself to inspect any details supplied and confirm they are legitimate..
Republic of Ireland
Officers from the republic of Ireland can now get verified status. To do this, you need to scan your warrant card. You need to send it in an e-mail to worldwidepolice.admin@gmail.com with the subject "Ireland verification" and include your name, station, and rank. Access will be granted within a few days.
Sarge, a member of WWP Staff and Garda officer is in charge of verification for Ireland.
CANADA
To get access, members of the RCMP should send an e-mail from their official @rcmp.grc.ca email address to worldwidepolice.admin@gmail.com You should include your forum username, and your real name. A code will then be returned to that e-mail address which you should send to my user "Sarge" in a PM on this forum to complete the process.
I will be looking after the canadian verification process
I hope you will appreciate that these precautions are necessary to protect protected information. I can assure you that your details will be disclosed to nobody apart from possibly one of the volunteer appointed people, who are all verified officers themselves.
The terms of having this area are:
* There is no breach of security (i.e. the password) to anybody.
* People comply with the arrangements for access and that this runs smoothly.
* Postings in other areas of the forum do not decrease.
* There is no feeling or atmosphere of segregation between members who have access and those who don't.
* No discussion that takes place within the area is bought up outside it.
P.S I am still open to suggestions on how to verify officers from other countries : PM me if you have any ideas on this.
