First, i'm moving this to member suggestions.

I am open on this. The outcome of the vote can decide this.

Your views: would this be open to ALL officers no matter what country - i.e. one big officer only forum?

For UK police, the verification would be something like this: an e-mail from your force e-mail address to me (or OBP), and also your force, station and collar number, which could be verified if needed.

I think the idea would be good, but would this forum be open to ONLY police officers and support staff as well? (just out of interest).

I'm up for a secret section for both Plod and Trumpton.

Norm I think you should get "special officer access" seeing as you have more guns in your toilet than the whole of the UK Police services combined have in their armouries. laugh.gif

This topic has the potential to create division.

What non police personel must realise is that the public and employers are unforgiving in this profession. Forgive me if i dont wish to place my balls in the hands of well meaning, sincere ammateurs. When I go to the Doctor I dont want any part timer poking around my goolies.... if you see what I mean.

No offence intended.

As for a restricted site the Sarge once again has missed the point of my arguement.

If he is a member of An Garda Síochána, he will be very aware that he is strictly limited in what he can say on this forum. It is irrelevant whether the forum is limited to police personel or not. It is just good advice.....nothing more.....nothing less!

I repeat again .........most of the issues raised have been glossed over or ignored.

PLEASE DISCUSS IN A MEANINGFUL WAY>

All I can say on the matter is if its that important to you plod then have one.

However two very close friends of mine are plod, one is on the ARV, this along with talking to plod almost daily at work and being on ride outs with them also to do with work I cant see what you could talk about on a forum whether that part of the forum is closed or not, I hear pretty much everything that they get up to one way or another and its really not that intersteting. Surely you have a staion full of other plod you can discuss plod talk with?!?!? Do you really need to take it home with you and talk about it in your time off too!?!?!

If you worried we will find out where the good tea stops are, stop worrying as I already know them!!

Anyway I have decided not to vote as it defeats the point of a forum.......only in my humble opinion of course!!! Anyway if you get it my only comment would be........enjoy your 'special toy' im sure you will be very happy whilst feeling all very important....as of course you are!!!! wink.gif

Im sure ill get some flack here but hey 'whatever'!!

Having a restricted area does not mean all the officers on here will immeidately stop posting in the other areas.
However there are sensitive issues which I would like to discuss to which I wouldnt want lurkers to read and misinterpret,
it's not a secret society its just an area ofr a little more free speech.

Jaysus red hand you posts jump from one place to another making little to no sense at times, I know the restrictions I'm under but as you were discussiong Garda Groupies i assumed you were on about the inpersonation of an officer

I made several points relating to this issue, one of which relates to impersonation, which you have confirmed is a problem. No solution has been offered.

The main content of the posts are ' I am in favour ' or ' I am not in favour '. I dont think that the thread is going anywhere unless verification issues have been discussed and more importantly .... solved.

Sarge I will type more slowly in future so that you can keep up ipf/bigsmily.gif !

Sounds like talking about verification to me rolleyes.gif

OK, well one of the last posts on this before I head off:::

I am willing, if the vote corroborates, to implement an officer only forum on a one month trial basis. However, clearly if division occurs or postings in other forums start to cease then I think it will have to be scrapped.

Also, still the issue of verifying officers from other countries.

EXACTLY !

I can speak of Queensland only, but we also have internet that has our full details on it and also comes with a warning from Queensland Police. Also if need be it wouldn't be hard for me to get a report from my boss confirming I am a Police Officer. Also once you have one person from an area overseas, they could become your contact to check on others from the same area.

I have also noticed that most of the Aussies on here are part of another Police only forum in Australia and have already been verified. As a result, once one of us has been cleared to the Commish Standards we can verify this for him. Again this would only be for Australia and New Zealand.

Just an idea.

It would work if we made it
