I don't know if any other forces have had restriction put in place with regards to the photographing of their Police Vehicles but Merseyside have had one in place since 2003. It was supposed to be reviwed in 2005 but there hasn't been any information about it, why were/would they be in place? and, for so long? We've had some really nice new vehicles recently, its just a shame that we can't photgraph them... sad.gif

Unmarked maybe but why not marked cars? Not as if they're a secret or something

Commissioner- 06-12-2006
Wow this is very weird. Maybe some info. available about this under freedom of information act. Seems like a jobsworth office worker needed something to do so enforced this policy. Unmarked vehicles are different but people surely will see marked vehicles every day.

Wonder what happens if you take a picture of one and get caught.. cant think what they would do really .. not much me thinks.

Yea, sprung to mind knowing that the met's FOI page has loads of policies online. Didn't know if Merseyside did the same sort of thing.

Edit: Just looked at the Merseyside Police FOI Policy Page and doesn't look like there's anything online but I understand you can make requests.
