Sorry but that has brought tears to  my eyes, what the hell will they thinkg of next?

I can see a big debate on this.......never mind blues what about PURPLES!!!!!!

Thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when I saw them!! Money making scam is the only thing I can think of!!

This is a thing that ariginated in the states when a emergency service person is killed they put purple sheets over the flashing lights and it flashes a purple colour like at the end of backdraft the film. So now instead of putting sheets over the lights theyre selling purple lights

Cant think what the one on the right is as the regs state that you cannot show flashing reds to the front!

Commissioner- 01-16-2006

The crew are unable to use blue flashing lights. Instead, to increase awareness of the vehicle's presence, two white strobe lights are mounted on the front grill.

There is no mention of blue lights and/or sirens.

Sarge- 03-19-2006
What he is trying to say is that instead of giving them blues give them whites

Priority Call- 03-19-2006
I think this has been 'done to death' on this and every other forum!

The white strobes in any private vehicle is illegal..........end of story! Use them and face the full force of the law if you are caught!! The FB, CG and LB bosses do not allow any kind of visual or audible warning for their crews to use on private vehicles!

As iv said on many occasion, I do think retained firefighters etc need some kind of beacon or illuminated sign to assist them through traffic but none are available to use!! dry.gif

Commissioner- 03-19-2006
Coming from London, I've never been aware of retained firefighters - I hadn't even heard of them up until a few years ago. Am I right in thinking there aren't as many in big cities as there are in rural areas?
