Does anyone know if they have any powers whils escorting convoys, e.g. stopping traffic at a roundabout, or are they there just to increase the convoys presence

Wondering because i saw these guys last weekend with lots of flat bed trucks with no civie cars between them

Thanks

I would guess no powers whatsoever.

RLC were probably traveling in convoy as part of a counter-terrorism effort. Where possibly, the army will always travel in convoy (our last one stretched back 2 miles! ohmy.gif)

That one included RLC, Infantry, AGC and REME. The Land Rovers can go faster than the 4-tonners but have to stay at a lower speed and stay in convoy.

It's common sense really, no one would dare attack a 75 vehicle convoy wink.gif

They don't have any powers per-say, but would you argue with an armed soldier, knowing that all his mates were around? ph34r.gif

They are nothing to do with security.....just to help move large abnormal loads....they use Hoda ST1100 Pans in Police spec with ambers in place of blues and of course no siren. They have no powers.....any more than civvie ab load escorts,

I didn't say they were - the convoy itself is a C-T measure. i.e. it's safer for the RLC to travel with the rest of the pack.

Yes it is.....it has been 'de-mobbed' so to speak. As an ex-police Pan owner I am a member of another forum for owners of police spec bikes, ex mod and ambo bikes are included.
