This might seem very trivial but I'll post it all the same. I saw an officer recently who was wearing white socks with his black shoes and black trousers. It looked STUPID. Black or dark blue would have looked MUCH better, and much smarter. Are there any regulations about what colour socks have to be and does anybody ever get a slapped wrist for wearing the wrong ones?

Plain back or navy socks only, never ever seen anyone get introuble for wearing any others, might get slagged in the locker room but on slap on the wrist

My pet hate is to see someone in ANY dark uniform wearing white socks!! It looks ridiculous!!!

I don't beleive there is anything in uniform regs about wearing white socks, however if you came to work when I was there wearing them you would only wear them once

I can get away with my dark winnie the pooh socks because my boots cover them up sufficiently.

Black socks, and that is what they issue for us to wear.

We get issued black socks and white T shirts (for underneath the uniform shirt) this was all because an officer dressed in the dark so that he wouldn't disturb his sleeping wife and put on a patterned T shirt that could be seen through his uniform shirt, also officers got caught out in warmer weather when they took their jumpers of to go shirt sleeve order and were found to have leary T's on! Cheers guys owe you one, I've got oddles of white T's - Mmmm prehaps I might spend sometime on Ebay

I always wear black socks. One of my fellow colleagues wore pink socks once and didn't she know it
