Should there be a standard police I.D. In the uk there are a number of different warrant cards for different forces? Is this correct? And in the USA I think there are different "badges". What do you think..? If there was just one type that people needed to know then would things like distraction burglaries where people pretend to be police decrease?

If there was a standardised Police ID then think of how easy it would be for criminals to create copies of that ID. The way I see it, different jurisdictional warrant cards have worked for years, so why change them.

Very true!

If you think about it wheels, people only really need to know the ID of their local police (who they will come in to contact with). And... if you gave a piece of paper to 10 members of the public and said draw a rough sketch of a police warrant card, I doubt that more than 1 of them will come back with anything half decent.

I don't see how a standardised system would help ... sorry sad.gif
